Streamline Your Music Room with Our Guitar Storage Rack

Learn why the Band Room Guitar Rack is the perfect choice for music educators:

✓ Customized for Educational Use

The Band Room rack is specifically designed for classroom environments, providing a perfect fit for lighter-weight guitars. It caters to the unique storage needs of music education, ensuring that your students’ instruments are always ready for the next lesson.

✓ Versatile Storage Solutions

This rack offers the flexibility to accommodate various types of guitars, in-or-out of their cases. Vinyl-covered dowels (included) securely hold the instruments upright. And pick-shaped bookends (also included) can be utilized if you only intend to store your students’ instruments in their cases.

Select the version that best suites your needs:

  • The Case-only version (BRDGC) can hold up to 20 guitar cases (case size dependent). It includes a pick-shaped stop to keep cases upright.
  • The Guitar & Case version (BRDG) can hold up to 20 guitars or cases (case and instrument size dependent) or any combination of both. It includes 40 removable separator pegs to keep the guitars or cases upright. An alternate rail position can accommodate your small or ¾ size guitars.

✓ Enhanced Security Features

Understanding the importance of security in schools, this rack includes a cable-and-lock theft deterrent system. This feature adds an extra layer of protection, giving you peace of mind that your instruments are safe and secure, especially during summer and holiday breaks.

✓ Mobility and Stability Combined

The heavy-duty wheels (with brakes) make it easy for you to move the rack around your music room while remaining stable when in transit. This mobility is essential for dynamic classroom settings where space and layout can change frequently, shifting between teaching and performance.

✓ American-Made Quality and Craftsmanship

Proudly made in the USA, our school guitar storage solutions are built with quality and durability in mind. When you choose the Band Room Guitar Shelf Rack, you’re investing in a product that will serve your music classroom for years to come.

⚠ Warning about Solid Body, Vintage & Acoustic Guitars with Heavy Cases

These shelves are designed for lightweight student guitars. If you are a guitar player or anyone wishing to store heavier solid body guitars in or out of their cases, or guitars with nitro finishes, the Band Room Double-Stack Racks are NOT recommended. Instead, please see the Session Pro Double-stack guitar racks for a more appropriate solution. They’re nitro safe guitar stands that are built to hold heavier weights long-term.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Band Room Double-stack also hold mariachi instruments?
Yes! It doubles as a mariachi instrument storage rack, able to hold your students’ requintos, bajo quintos, vihuelas and even guitarrons.

Q: How easy is the rack to assemble?
A: We provide clear illustrated instructions and all necessary hardware, making it easy for music educators or facility staff to put it together without needing specialized tools.

Q: Can this product be assembled by one person?
A: Yes. However, we advise having someone help to make the assembly quicker and easier.

Q: How many inches will the guitar cases extend above the height of the rack?
A: It can vary somewhat depending on the case model but in general we suggest approximately 7-8″ for ceiling clearance.

Q: Does the listed height of 71 ½” H inches include the wheels?
A: Yes it does.

Q: How many inches of space are needed between the rack and the wall so that the cases do not rub against the wall?
A: It can vary somewhat depending on the case model but in general we suggest you leave approximately 6″ of space.

Q: What size doorway will this product fit through?
A: Doorways that are as large as 80 inches high and 33 inches wide. Cases and guitars add further height and width depending on their size.

Q: Can I easily remove all the separator dowels to fit more guitar cases?
A: Yes, they are all removable. They can be placed anywhere along the rail OR they can be removed completely to give you more storage area for more instruments.

Q: Will the guitars or cases directly contact the wood of the cross rails?
A: No. There is a high-grade, durable plastic molding along the rails which the guitars and cases rest on.

Q: Can this product be assembled and used without the wheels?
A: Yes. We provide the wheels just in case the rack needs to be moved around your room, but it can certainly be used without the wheels. If you have low ceilings and need extra height, you may prefer to eliminate the wheels which add 6 inches.

Q: Do you accept orders for custom sized racks?
A: Sorry, not at this time.

“helped clean up the room” “The racks are great. Thank you. They are just what I was looking for – easy to put together. Nice and sturdy too. They have really helped clean up the room.” – Chris (Music Teacher)

“beautiful! Thanks so much!” “I ordered a guitar storage unit last spring. It is now put together and beautiful! Thanks so much! I fit 31 guitars on it! They are mostly 3/4 size.” – Jayne W. (Music Teacher, Hilliard, OH)

“Awesome product!” “PO for double stack guitar rack, Central Middle School, attached-thank you! We love the first one we bought earlier this year. We started a guitar club this year and had 51 guitars donated and no place to put them. The double stack rack solved our problems — the guitars stay safe but are easy for the students to reach when it’s time to play. Awesome product!“  – Anne H. (Central Middle School, Riverside, CA)

“this rack is beautiful” “I just wanted to say thank you so much for the guitar rack! I received it yesterday, and put it together today in about 20 minutes. How simple to put together! I have 22 guitars, and they all fit. If I take out the pegs, I could fit more, which is great if I expand the guitar program! Bob, this rack is beautiful, and exactly what I have been looking for.” – Lawrence P., Jr. (Vocal/General Music, Glendale School District – Flinton, PA)

“the Guitar Racks are great” “I think the Guitar Racks are great. I’m putting in a request to my district to get the 2 more we need!” – Dawn (Music Teacher)

“looks great too”“The guitar rack showed up the last day before Spring Break started. I put in a maintenance request to have it assembled. Our guys came down and put it together yesterday. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the finished product. It has saved me time in my classes (eliminating take down and set up) and it looks great too.”  – Dan G. (Music Teacher, Alberta, Canada)

“perfect!” “The rack is perfect! Thank you!” – Dan D., California High School Music Teacher

“I can easily roll it” “Love the guitar storage rack. My room doubles as a p.e. locker room and I am able to easily turn the cart around and make it less accessible to those visiting teams. I really love my classroom for guitar, but sharing it with visiting teams does make me a little nervous. The guitar storage cart was the perfect answer to those worries. If I think I will have a real rowdy bunch, I can easily roll it across the Commons to the music room. Thanks for a great, affordable product. I will try to remember to snap a picture of it in my classroom.” – Shelly G.
